  5. The more you convince yourself of one thing, the more likely the opposite will happen. For example. I convinced myself that I could afford a new iPhone (see item 1), however, my bank account reflects otherwise. I also told myself that eating a quart of ice cream would have little to no effect on my waistline. This morning I thought to myself, hey, I don’t feel fat at all! Then I put on my jeans that are a little loose in the waist. Correction: that USED to be a little loose in the waist.
